The Fordland Christmas Parade

santa-claus-paradeCome and join us, Saturday, December 9th, for the Fordland Christmas Parade.

Line up for the parade is at 12:30 p.m. the Parade will start at 1:00 p.m.

Come see Santa Claus at City Hall after the Parade.  There will be free photos with Santa, and free bags of candy for the kids.

Free coffee and doughnuts will be available.

Wild West Days

wild_westThe Fordland Community Betterment Association invites you to Wild West Days. Saturday, October 21st, 2017!

Festivities include a Heritage Parade down Main Street at 9 a.m. . There will also be activities at the City Park from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., including:  panning for gold, pin the tail on the donkey, egg in spoon races, tug of war, horse shoes, stick pull, candy in the hay stack, face painting, lucky lasso calf roping and a sack race.

There will be competitions including; best country high school voice, best western high school artist and best old west costume.

Western-style foods will be available, a jail for your friends to bail you out of, and western vendors selling their wares.

At 3 p.m., a rodeo will be held at the Fordland Saddle Club.

Fordland First Baptist Fall Festival

Fall FestivalThe Fordland First Baptist Church will be holding a Fall Festival at the Fordland City Park on October 7th, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Activities will include: live bands, face painting, a bounce house, hay rides, games, candy, prizes, popcorn. snow cones, cotton candy, and a photo booth.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

 

The Fordland Community Care Day

care-to-learnThe Fordland Community Care Day, presented by Care to Learn, will be September 16th, 2017.

The Pancake Breakfast is from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Fordland High School.  The 5K run (or walk) starts at the High School at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Kid Character Fun Run at 9 a.m.  Vendor Booths at the High School will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Family Fun beginning at 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.   A Live and Silent Auction will begin at 10:30 a.m.

A Public Hearing for the City of Fordland will be held the 15th day of August, 2017, at 5:00 pm at Fordland City Hall.  At that time, Citizens may be heard on the following proposed property tax rates:

Fordland 4th of July Celebration

Fordland4thCome on out to the 2017 Fordland 4th of July Celebration!

Parade starts at 5:00pm

Community Event at the City Park at 6:00pm

Entertainment provided by The Outlaw Band

Food will be served by the Fordland FFA.

Organization Booths will be present.

Fireworks will begin at dusk.

All on Tuesday, July 4th!

Fordland United Methodist Church Celebrates 125 Years of Service

The program will be held at 1p.m., on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at the Fordland United Methodist Church, located at 266 N. Maple in Fordland.

Refreshments will be served following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

 

Vocational Opportunities Inspiring Children in Elementary comes to Fordland

On March 19th and 20th ForVOICEdland Elementary School had a special visit from some of the area business leaders around our area through the VOICE program.

VOICE is a project of the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC).  VOICE encourages elementary school age participants to explore six career paths through an interactive, hands-on experience.

These six career paths include:

Arts and Communication

Business Management and Technology

Natural Resources and Agriculture

Human Services

Industrial and Engineering Technology

Health Services

Fordland Community Easter Egg Hunt Rescheduled

Due to the weather, tEgg Hunthe Fordland Community Easter Egg Hunt Has been rescheduled to  April 7th, 2018 at 1p.m. at the Fordland Elementary School.

There will be egg hunts for ages 0 to 12, come hunt eggs and win prizes!  Hot dogs and drink will be provided.

The event is being sponsored by the Fordland Clinic, Sinclair Shop and Go, Home Pride Bank, Safe Haven Now, Cooley’s, Hair Nails and Beyond, Greenway Recycling, Lori at Dollar General, the Fordland Park Board, The Fordland Betterment Association, Oil Lamps and More, First Baptist Church, Fordland United Methodist Church, Fordland Free Will Baptist Church, the Fordland Parent Teacher Organization, and Fordland City Hall.
